{"id":102278,"date":"2025-04-28T13:18:22","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T13:18:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mymsd.ch\/it\/?page_id=102278"},"modified":"2026-02-04T10:06:48","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T10:06:48","slug":"prevymis","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mymsd.ch\/it\/succinctstatement\/prevymis\/","title":{"rendered":"Short Prescribing Information PREVYMIS\u00ae"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-border-color has-has-red-border-color-border-color has-teal-500-color has-text-color  mhh-mcn-v1-heading mhh-mcn-v1-heading--3e39188dbff957048c59e8c145f41fc5\">Short Prescribing Information PREVYMIS\u00ae (letermovir)<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-border-color has-has-red-border-color-border-color   mhh-mcn-v1-paragraph mhh-mcn-v1-paragraph--81c6ecf57d8bbf2e854c372d3dea621a\"><strong>PREVYMIS\u00ae: AI:<\/strong> letermovir. <strong>I: <\/strong><em>Adults:<\/em> prophylaxis of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection or disease in CMV-seropositive re-cipients [R+] of an allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). <strong>D:<\/strong> <em>Adults:<\/em> 480 mg once daily, orally or intrave-nously; started no later than 28 days after HSCT; continued for up to a maximum of 200 days post-HSCT; Prevymis is available in three pharmaceutical forms: film-coated tablets, granules in sachet (orally mixed with soft food or via naso-gastric or gastric tube), concentrate for solution for infusion; use the solution for infusion only when oral therapy is im-possible; dilute concentrate before administration and slowly administer the entire contents i.v. over 60 minutes; i.v. in-fusion only using a sterile 0,2 or 0,22 \u03bcm polyethersulfone (PES) inline filter; do not administer as a rapid infusion or bo-lus. If co-administered with cyclosporine, decrease Prevymis to 240 mg once daily.<strong><em> For further indications and the corre-sponding dosages for adults and pediatric patients, please refer to the prescribing information. <\/em>CI:<\/strong> Hypersensitivity to letermovir\/excipients; concomitant administration with pimozide, ergot alkaloids, St. John&#8217;s wort (<em>Hypericum perforatum<\/em>) or ciclosporin in combination with dabigatran, atorvastatin, simvastatin, rosuvastatin, pitavastatin. <strong>Pr:<\/strong> The safety and efficacy of letermovir has been established in patients with a negative CMV DNA test result prior to initiation of prophy-laxis. CMV DNA was monitored on a weekly basis until post-transplant Week 14, and subsequently bi-weekly until Week 24. Not recommended in moderate hepatic impairment combined with moderate or severe renal impairment, severe he-patic impairment (Child Pugh C), end-stage renal disease (CrCl &lt;10 ml\/min) or dialysis patients. Risk associated with excip-ient hydroxypropyl betadex in intravenous formulation. Risk of adverse reactions or reduced therapeutic effect due to medicinal product interactions.<strong> DDI: <\/strong>The combination of cyclosporine and letermovir may lead to more marked or addi-tional effects on concomitant medicinal products as compared to letermovir alone. Co-administration of PREVYMIS\u00ae with strong and moderate inducers of transporters (e.g. P-gp) and\/or enzymes (e.g. UGTs) is not recommended, as it may lead to subtherapeutic letermovir exposure. Letermovir is an inhibitor of OATP1B1\/3 transporters and may result in a clinically relevant increase in plasma concentrations of co-administered medicinal products that are OATP1B1\/3 substrates. Co-administration of PREVYMIS\u00ae with medicinal products that are inhibitors of OATP1B1\/3 transporters may result in in-creased letermovir plasma concentrations. Letermovir is a moderate inducer of enzymes and transporters; Induction may give rise to reduced plasma concentrations of some metabolised and transported medicinal products. Letermovir is a moderate inhibitor of CYP3A: Coadministration of PREVYMIS\u00ae may result in clinically relevant increases in the plasma con-centrations of co-administered CYP3A substrates. Letermovir has the potential to decrease the exposure of CYP2C9 and\/or CYP2C19 substrates potentially resulting in subtherapeutic levels. Letermovir is an inducer of intestinal P-gp: Ad-ministration of PREVYMIS\u00ae may result in a clinically relevant decrease in plasma concentrations of co-administered medic-inal products that are significantly transported by P-gp in the intestine.
